Coinciding with the grand opening of the YCAPS Center for Maritime Capcity (C MARC), we are pleased to share the Handbook for Designing and Implementing Maritime Security Capacity-Building Activities in the Indo-Pacific.
The Handbook provides best practices and practical advice for policymakers, program managers, and trainers to improve coordinated capacity-building activities (CBAs) in the region. It is the only such volume tailored for our region and takes a practical approach that gives it a "how to" quality.

The book relies on extensive field research. YCAPS teams comprised of maritime security practitioners and education specialists observed more than a dozen of CBAs being delivered by a range of institutions for a variety of audiences in multiple locations. First-hand observation data were merged with interview results and academic foregrounding research to develop this guide. YCAPS' friends at the Blue Security Program provided critical reviews, editorial support and ultimately published the book. Special thanks to Troy Lee-Brown and Bec Strating.
